Franchise recruitment websites need to help potential franchisees understand the opportunity and decide whether to take the next step.

As part of my employed SEO leadership role at World Options, my responsibilities included the franchise website’s organic search direction, content priorities, technical recommendations and performance reporting.

In 2024, annual organic sessions reached 5,996, compared with 2,792 in 2023 — an increase of approximately 115%.

The business context

A franchise recruitment website serves a different audience from a customer-facing service website. Someone considering a franchise needs to understand the business model, the support available and whether the opportunity fits their circumstances.

Search visibility is one part of that journey. The website also needs useful information and a clear route to an enquiry.

My role

My responsibilities included:

  • Setting SEO priorities for the franchise website.
  • Developing content and landing-page recommendations.
  • Identifying technical issues and coordinating improvements.
  • Working with developers and other stakeholders on delivery.
  • Reviewing analytics and search performance to inform subsequent work.

This work formed part of an employed role. Delivery involved colleagues and partners across the business.

Supporting the recruitment journey

My approach to franchise recruitment SEO connects search demand with the questions prospective franchisees need answered.

That means considering the purpose of each page, the information it provides and how it helps someone move through their research. Technical accessibility, relevant content and clear internal navigation all support that process.

The aim is to make the opportunity easier to discover and understand, with priorities that the team can implement and measure.

What the results show

The annual comparison shows a substantial increase in organic visits, supported by growth in engaged sessions and search impressions.

These measures describe different parts of search performance. Impressions indicate appearances in search results; sessions indicate visits; engaged sessions provide an additional measure of activity on the website.

They do not establish how many qualified enquiries or completed franchise agreements resulted. The year-on-year comparison also does not isolate SEO from changes in demand, brand activity or other influences.

What this experience brings to franchise SEO

Franchise recruitment SEO benefits from a clear distinction between attracting customers and attracting potential business owners. Each audience has different questions and needs a relevant journey through the website.

My experience at World Options informs how I assess those journeys, set priorities and report progress in terms a commercial team can use.
