Technical SEO

Crawl, indexation, site architecture, and the foundation issues that quietly cap everything else.

This pillar page is structural for now — the full guide is being written. Below is the working outline plus everything currently tagged under this topic.

What technical SEO actually covers

The infrastructure layer underneath content and links: whether search engines can crawl a site efficiently, whether the right pages get indexed, whether the architecture and internal linking tell search engines what actually matters, and whether tracking accurately reflects what’s happening in the business. Most technical SEO problems are invisible until someone goes looking for them — which is exactly why they’re so commonly the actual cause behind a “content problem” or a “we’re just not converting” problem.

The audit process, in outline

  1. Crawl the site the way a search engine would — find orphaned pages, broken internal links, indexation gaps.
  2. Verify tracking and analytics against real business data, not just the dashboard’s own numbers.
  3. Check site architecture and internal linking against what’s actually meant to rank.
  4. Prioritise fixes by impact, not by what’s easiest to fix first.
