This policy explains what data shahzadakram.com ("this site", "I", "me") collects, why, and how it's handled. This site is operated by Shahzad Akram, based in the UK.

Data I collect

Contact form. When you submit the contact form, I collect the name, email address, and message you provide. This is used solely to respond to your enquiry and isn't added to any marketing list or shared with third parties.

Analytics. This site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site — pages viewed, general location (country/city level), device type, and referral source. This data is aggregated and doesn't identify you personally. Analytics only loads after you accept cookies via the banner (see Cookies below).

Spam protection. The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to verify you're not a bot. Turnstile may process your IP address and browser characteristics as part of that check. See Cloudflare's Turnstile privacy policy for details.

Hosting and security. This site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard connection data (IP address, browser, request logs) to serve the site and protect against abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Cookies

This site uses a small number of cookies, set only after you accept them via the cookie banner:

• Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) — used to measure site usage anonymously in aggregate.
• Essential cookies — used by Cloudflare Turnstile to verify form submissions on the contact page. These are necessary for the form to function and aren't optional.

You can withdraw analytics consent at any time by clearing your browser's cookies for this site, or by adjusting your choice if the banner is shown again.

How I use your data

Contact form submissions are used only to reply to you. Analytics data is used only to understand and improve the site. I don't sell your data, and I don't share it with third parties beyond the service providers named above (Google, Cloudflare), who process it strictly to provide their service.

Data retention

Contact form emails are kept in my inbox for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and any follow-up, then deleted at my discretion. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' default retention settings.

Your rights

If you're in the UK or EU, you have rights under UK GDPR / GDPR including the right to access, correct, or delete personal data I hold about you, and the right to object to processing. To exercise any of these, email contact@shahzadakram.com.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated occasionally to reflect changes to the site or its data practices. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
