LOCAL & MULTI-LOCATION SEO
Help more customers find your local business
Make every location easier to discover, understand and contact.
I help franchise networks and multi-location businesses improve their local search presence through useful location pages, accurate business information and clearer enquiry journeys.
Whether you manage a handful of branches or a national network, I can help identify where visibility is falling short and put a practical improvement plan in place.
Local search experience across a national network
My SEO leadership experience across World Options, Mail Boxes Etc. UK and PACK & SEND UK includes responsibility for approximately 191 physical store pages and 335 virtual service office pages.
That work brings together national brand requirements, local services, Google Business Profiles and the needs of individual franchisees.
I understand the coordination involved: head office controls some information, local teams know their customers, and developers or agencies may be responsible for making changes. Effective local SEO needs contributions from each.
Where local visibility can break down
A location page needs to help someone decide whether your business can meet their needs.
Problems often arise when:
- Pages repeat the same generic content with only the town name changed.
- Customers cannot tell which services a particular branch provides.
- Opening hours, contact details or website links are inconsistent.
- The website makes it difficult to find the nearest appropriate location.
- Several pages target the same service and area without a clear purpose.
- Enquiries reach the wrong branch or lack useful location information.
- Reporting hides differences between individual locations.
I review the whole journey—from discovering your business to contacting the right team—to identify what needs attention.
What I can help with
Location visibility reviews
Understand how your locations are represented across your website and local search presence.
I review the agreed locations, identify shared problems and highlight branches that need closer attention. For larger networks, an initial sample can help establish priorities before extending the work.
What you receive: A clear set of findings, with network-wide improvements separated from location-specific actions.
Better location pages
Give customers the information they need to choose and contact a branch.
Depending on the business, this may include:
- Services available at that location.
- Address, opening hours and contact details.
- Directions, access or parking information.
- Areas served.
- Local team information and photographs.
- Relevant customer examples.
- A clear route to an enquiry, booking or quotation.
I help define what belongs in the shared page template and what should come from the local team.
What you receive: Recommendations or content briefs that make location pages more useful and easier to maintain.
Google Business Profile support
Improve the accuracy and consistency of information across eligible business profiles.
Support can include reviewing categories, services, opening hours, contact details, website links and management responsibilities. I can also help establish a process for handling updates when locations open, move or change their services.
What you receive: Profile improvement priorities and a practical process for keeping information current.
Service-area content
Explain where your business operates and how customers in those areas are served.
Physical branches and service areas need different treatment. I help make that distinction clear, so customers understand whether they can visit a location or arrange a service in their area.
What you receive: A plan for service-area content based on genuine coverage, useful information and a clear customer journey.
Website structure and internal links
Connect your national services with the locations that provide them.
I review how customers move between service pages, location directories and individual branch pages. The aim is to make relevant information easier to find and reduce confusing overlap.
What you receive: Recommendations for navigation, page relationships and internal links.
Local enquiry journeys
Make it easier for customers to contact the appropriate team.
This can involve reviewing phone links, forms, branch selection and the information passed with an enquiry. I work with your team to understand how enquiries are handled after submission, as well as what happens on the website.
What you receive: Practical changes to improve enquiry routing and remove unnecessary steps.
Reporting by location
Understand how performance differs across your network.
Depending on the available data, reporting can include organic visits to location pages, tracked enquiries and Business Profile interactions. Where tracking is incomplete, I identify the gaps before drawing conclusions.
What you receive: A clearer view of location performance and where further investigation is needed.
Consistency across the brand. Useful detail for each location.
A shared template makes a large website easier to manage. Local information makes each page useful.
I help you establish a structure that supports both: consistent branding and core information, with room for the services, people and practical details that distinguish each branch.
This also makes ongoing maintenance more manageable. Local teams know what information to provide, and head office has a clear process for reviewing and publishing it.
Support for new and changing locations
Local information needs attention throughout a branch’s life.
I can help plan the website and search updates associated with:
- Opening a new location.
- Moving premises.
- Changing contact details or opening hours.
- Adding or removing services.
- Transferring responsibility between local teams.
- Closing a branch and directing customers appropriately.
The scope depends on your systems and who controls each part of the process.
How we would work together
1. Understand your network
We discuss your locations, services, website setup and the local visibility problems you want to address.
2. Review a useful starting point
We agree whether to assess the full network or begin with a representative group of locations.
3. Prioritise shared and local improvements
I identify which changes belong in the website template, which need technical work and which require information from individual branches.
4. Coordinate implementation
I can work with your marketing team, franchisees, developers and agency to move the agreed changes forward.
5. Review the evidence
We assess implementation and available performance data, then refine the next stage of work.
Why work with me?
I bring experience managing local search within established franchise businesses, alongside broader technical SEO and website delivery responsibilities.
That combination helps me connect a local visibility issue with the wider cause—whether it sits in a page template, website structure, profile information, tracking or the process for making updates.
I’m comfortable discussing priorities with senior marketing teams and turning those decisions into practical tasks for developers and local stakeholders.
Frequently asked questions
Do you only work with franchises?
No. This service is also relevant to businesses operating multiple branches or service locations under one brand.
Can you help an individual franchise location?
Potentially, yes. We would first establish what you control locally and what needs head-office involvement, so the work fits your franchise arrangements.
Do all locations need different content?
Each page should contain useful information about the location it represents. Some brand and service information will naturally be shared, while local services, access details, team information and customer examples may differ.
Can you work with our existing location pages?
Yes. I would review what is already there before recommending changes. Improvements may be possible through the existing templates, content and navigation.
Do you manage Google Business Profiles?
I can support profile reviews, improvements and management processes. We would agree whether you need a defined project, ongoing coordination or guidance for your internal team.
Can a service-area page have a Google Business Profile?
A website page does not, by itself, establish eligibility for a Business Profile. We would assess the underlying business arrangements and applicable requirements separately.
Can you guarantee local rankings?
No. I can identify problems, implement agreed improvements and measure progress, but I cannot promise a particular position in search results.
How will we know which locations are improving?
We agree the measures and reporting level at the outset. Where reliable location-level tracking exists, we can compare performance over time. Where it does not, improving measurement may be an early priority.
